All of our door mats and entrance mats are quality products produced in the UK, Europe or the US. When choosing a door mat it is important that you can be confident that it is made to last. Unlike others we do not import door mats from the far east, as whilst these can be a little cheaper they are so often not up to the quality of European, UK or US manufactured products and will provide a considerably shorter useful life. You can therefore be confident that a mat purchased from us will be of excellent quality.

Door Mat Backings

Backings are generally made of one of two types of material, rubber or PVC vinyl. Both backing materials have there own benefits.

A vinyl backed door mat is lighter than its rubber backed counterpart so is easier to take up and replace. A vinyl back door mat is also less expensive than its rubber backed alternative. Some of our vinyl backed products are suitable for occasional machine washing at 30 degrees.

A rubber backed door mat is heavier than a vinyl backed mat, the extra weight can assist on surfaces where a door mat would be prone to slipping. A rubber gripper backing will help prevent movement on carpeted surfaces. Many of our rubber backed matts are suitable for regular machine washing and tumble drying.

Many people ask about the wide price range of door matting available. Obviously a larger mat is more expensive than a small door mat but if you take two mats of the same dimensions then what could cause such a wide price difference between the two?

The first thing is the quality of manufacture and materials. You can buy an inexpensive door mat made cheaply from lower quality materials for say £15.00 and this may last you one year. Alternatively you could invest a bit more for a quality door mat for say £25.00 and this may provide an effective life of 5 years. Therefore the more expensive mat has worked out much cheaper in the long run.
